9.3 Release of Prisoners Convicted of Offences Against Children
This policy was last reviewed in September 2020
Date of next review: September 2023
When a prisoner who is convicted of offences against a child or poses a risk to children is to be released at the end of their sentence the director of children’s services and chief probation officer must, prior to the release date, be informed by the prison probation officer.
If there are children at the household where the prisoner intends to live, a child protection enquiry must be initiated (see Information Sharing Procedure).
